§ 49-55. Customer and service classifications.

(a)

Customers shall be classified as retail customers and wholesale customers.

(b)

Customers within the retail and wholesale classifications shall be subclassified as follows:

(1)

Residential, single family. All residences, including mobile homes, containing one dwelling unit, individually metered and not connected to a commercial establishment.

(2)

Residential, multi-family. All residential structures containing two or more dwelling units including, but not limited to, duplexes, quadruplexes, condominiums, apartments, townhouses, patio homes, zero lot line homes, and mobile home parks served by individual or master meters.

(3)

Commercial. Establishments including, but not limited to, retail and wholesale sales operations, office buildings, shopping centers, warehouses, vending operations, laundries, restaurants, hospitals, schools, churches, government facilities and other related service operations.

(4)

Metered irrigation service. Residential, both single family and multi-family and commercial customers that have additional water meters installed on their properties for purposes of watering lawns, shrubbery and gardens.

(5)

Industrial. Customers operating, manufacturing, agricultural, chemical and food processing plants or concerns.

(6)

Metered reclaimed water service. Residential, both single family and multi-family and commercial customers that have additional water meters installed on their properties for purposes of watering lawns, shrubbery and gardens with reclaimed water or making other appropriate uses of such reclaimed water.

(c)

Private utilities, municipalities or other governmental entities having their wastewater treated by the City or purchasing water service or reclaimed water service from the City's water system or reclaimed water system as a single resale customer for the purpose of reselling the water to those customers within their jurisdiction are assigned the wholesale customer classification.
