 Article VII. LAW ENFORCEMENT UNIT

§ 2-751. Creation of Municipal Law Enforcement Unit; implementing administrative actions.

  • (a)

    A City of Palm Coast Law Enforcement Unit is hereby created. The City's Law Enforcement Coordinator shall serve as the Director of the Unit under the City Manager in accordance with the provisions of Section 6(2)(c)6. and 7. of the City Charter.

    (b)

    The City Law Enforcement Unit shall have all powers consistent with State law.

    (c)

    The interlocal funding agreement between the City and the Sheriff of Flagler County, and such other agreements as may be entered between the City and the Sheriff from time-to-time, shall operate as mutual aid agreements between the City and the Sheriff.

    (d)

    The City Manager, or designee, is hereby granted the power and authority to implement the provisions of this article to include, but not be limited, to taking any and all administrative actions required by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to establish the City's Law Enforcement Unit.
