    All fire protection codes adopted to establish alternative requirements on a case-by-case basis in order to meet special situations arising from historic geographic or unusual conditions, provided the alternative requirements result in a level of protection to life safety or property equal to or greater than the applicable code or standard. The Fire Marshal shall be designated as the "authority having jurisdiction" as defined and outlined in the various adopted Codes and Standards.
